Thunder Road

I watched this old movie the other day, it is an old classic film with Robert Mitchum that tells the story of moonshine runners in the Tenn, NC area. a spot that is will always have a warm spot in my heart. Being a motorcyclist or more accuratly a sport biker who loves to exeed the speed limit I felt a kindred heart with the boot leggers of days gone by. I too love the hills and the back country, I love the road and I am not part of the system but the outlaw fringe. I want the bad guy to get away.

In my mind the roles have changed, the cops are the bad guys and the bootleggers are the good guys. The times have not changed, when Robert Mitchum who also wrote the script with James Phillips it was thought that it would fail at the box office DRM products thought it would fail in the city, who after all would want to see a movie about car chases, and outlaws in the back county woods, 50 years later little has changed, instead of boot leggers we have motocyclists, the cops are still the same and I still root for them to get away
